Have you been watching Wayward Pines? If you have, then you know what gold this show is. If you haven’t, you need to! The series is a fresh, yet familiar mystery mini series that will have you on the edge of your seat. After the first ten minutes of the pilot, you’ll be hooked. The show seems to be just a 10-episode mini series, but with the shows favorable reviews, I’m hoping it continues.
The series stars some impressive talent, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard and Toby Jones, among a few others. Matt Dillon plays a Secret Service agent who is sent to Wayward Pines, Idaho in search of two missing agents. He begins to notice the odd behavior of the residents and the series wastes no time uncovering some huge twists. Like I said, you’ll be hooked from the get-go.
Based on a series of books of the same name, Pines was developed for TV by Chad Hodge and is executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan, who also directs the pilot. This is a very good move on Shyamalan’s part since he has been synonymous with less than favorable films since The Sixth Sense.
Fun Fact about the series is that it was filmed quite awhile ago, between August of 2013 and February of 2014. I’m not sure why it took so long between filming and release, but if it was to perfect the series, then it shows.
It’s generated tons of positive reviews and the second episode increased by almost a million viewers. Word is spreading fast about this epic mystery which is sure to never disappoint.
