Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

August 9th

Words simply cannot express my excitement over this film. This would have to be my most anticipated 2019 release, horror aside, simply due to my obsession with the book series as a child. It’s even more wonderful to have the incomparable Guillermo Del Toro calling the shots. His style and passion for horror is sure to give fans everything they could want out of these chilling tales. There were actually four separate teaser clips during the game – you can watch “Big Toe” below and check out the others here, here and here.

Avengers: Endgame

April 26th

After the mood killer that was the end of Infinity War, I’m eager to see how the remaining Avengers take on Thanos for a second round. Though there are plenty of theories of what’s to happen, including a pretty convincing one courtesy of Captain Marvel, we’ll have to wait to see exactly what transpires.

Captain Marvel

March 8th

Speaking of the newest Avenger addition, we’ll get a chance to get to know Carol Danvers one month before the big Avengers finale. While the tv spot was small, and didn’t reveal much more than what we already know, it’s still exciting when you realize how close we’re getting to premiere day.

Toy Story 4

June 21st

I made mention of this being one of the films I’m most excited for this year, and this new spot proves why. I’m so ready to see some familiar faces, and get introduced to new toys, including Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele’s Ducky and Bunny, Buzz’s new carnival pals. Also, I’m very curious as to what mysterious role Keanu Reeves has in the film. Summer cannot come soon enough!

Us

March 22nd

Jordan Peele’s other 2019 feature will be the undoubtedly terrifying follow-up to his directorial debut Get Out. He promises a more intense horror this time, with more supernatural elements, leaving me even more eager to know its secrets than before.

The Twilight Zone

April 1st

Shifting gears from film, was the teaser spot for the upcoming reboot of the classic anthology series. Once again, Jordan Peele pops up, this time, hosting the series. This is something I’ve looked forward to for quite some time, and I, like many fans, are a bit disappointed that the series will only be available on CBS All Access, the networks new streaming service. However, I might just binge it all within a month and simply cancel the service.
